CyberCAKE is a new project exploring how individuals like you can be motivated to change behaviours and make safer choices online. Funded through the Cyber Local 2025–2026 initiative by the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology via Innovate UK, CyberCAKE brings together expertise from across sectors to tackle one of today’s most pressing challenges: empowering people to thrive securely in the digital age.
This user workshop will trial a new online prototype personal 'cyber' toolkit. By answering a few simple, non-technical questions, you'll get a cyber-'persona' along with tailor-made growth plan full of suggestions and quick wins for how you could make yourself safer and more resilient online.
We need your help. Anybody who is still professionally active is invited to take part and help shape this research. With your input, we'll understand whether the 'CyberCAKE' toolkit has hit the mark. Would it help you make safer choices online and how can it be improved? It's one of the big questions in Digital Security - "How do we motivate you to change behaviour and become safer and more secure online?"
Bringing together real-world users, cybersecurity experts and social science practitioners to shape a set of cyber behaviour personas and cultural indicators, this project's goal is to help individuals and organisations evaluate their own risks. Come along, shape and support the development of a tools that can help you improve online habits and feel safer online

CyberCAKE’s technical delivery has been shaped from the outset by expert-led, interdisciplinary research workshops, combining cyber security, behavioural science, and design thinking expertise. This user workshop aims to generate real-world user feedback to kick-start the roll-out of a set of cyber culture profiles and tailor-made digital growth plans to help people improve their personal and professional digital secuirty.
By grounding technical development in validated, human-centric insights, we now invite your input to ensure the toolkit reflects real-world scenarios, not just theoretical risk models. We'd like to invite you to be 'in at the start' and help shape a toolkit aimed squarly at individuals needs rather than organisational compliance.
